PIaaS™ — Physical Infrastructure as a Service
Your physical infrastructure practice, on demand.
You sell the network, the compute, the collaboration platform. Every one of those deals sits on power, cooling, and racks — and most resellers don’t carry a bench for it. PIaaS™ gives you one.
Schedule a partner consultationGenoa runs the power and cooling side of your projects.
PIaaS™ is an engagement model for VARs, integrators, and technology partners. Genoa becomes your physical infrastructure design and assessment resource: we assess the environment, design the solution, produce the drawings and bill of materials, support your quote, and oversee the deployment through the OWL Lifecycle™ record. You own the customer, the sale, and the manufacturer relationships. We bring three decades of NCPI™ experience to every project you put in front of us.
- Assessment — PIIA™ and AIRAS™ engagements delivered under your brand or ours, scoped per project.
- Design — vendor-neutral power, cooling, and rack design specified to requirement; as-built and proposed drawings; BOM development; bid-spec and one-line review.
- Quote support — equipment specified so your team can price it through your own distribution and manufacturer relationships.
- Project oversight — OWL Overwatch™ technical project management and OWL™ Welcome documentation during the install, so the customer’s record is current when you hand it over.
Our design deliverables are proposed layouts, specifications, drawings, and bills of materials — the working documents your team quotes from and the customer’s installer builds from. Genoa is not a professional engineering firm and does not provide stamped drawings or code-compliance certification. Where a project requires a licensed engineer of record, our documentation gives them a complete starting point.
What it takes to build this yourself.
Standing up a physical infrastructure practice inside a VAR is a real project, and most of the cost is time you spend not competing.
People
An infrastructure engineer, someone to run the practice, and a service specialist — before the first project closes.
Manufacturer programs
Testing into each UPS, cooling, and rack manufacturer’s partner program, and earning the relationships behind them, takes months to years. Some manufacturers restrict three-phase and data-center portfolios to partners with demonstrated experience.
The knowledge
IDF and data-center design. Reading a one-line. Answering a bid spec. Working the room with both the facilities manager and the IT director.
The practice
An assessment methodology, field tooling, training, and collateral — none of which exists on day one.
In our experience that is eighteen months or more before a new practice can deliver what PIaaS™ gives you on day one. Physical infrastructure is a small slice of the switching, server, and collaboration projects you already sell — and it’s the slice that stalls the whole project when nobody on the deal can speak to it.
Vendor-agnostic
Multiple manufacturers in the portfolio from the first project. The customer gets what the site needs, and you choose the procurement path.
Certifications stay with you
Manufacturer partner programs — and the discounts and portfolio access tied to them — belong to your organization. We help you qualify for them and navigate them; we don’t hold them for you.
Every engagement ends in a BOM
Assessment and design terminate in a specified bill of materials and a prioritized roadmap — product and services revenue you would not otherwise see.
A conversation no one else is having
Power is the door no one else is knocking on. PIaaS puts you in the room when the customer is deciding what to do about it.
How it works.
Step 1
Scope
Your AE or SE brings us the opportunity: sites, rooms, racks, and what the customer is trying to do. We size the engagement together.
Step 2
Assess and design
Genoa delivers the assessment and design. You receive the Playbook, drawings, and BOM.
Step 3
Quote and close
You price and propose through your own channels. We support the customer presentation.
Step 4
Deploy and document
Your smart hands or the customer’s integrator installs. Welcome captures it; Overwatch oversees it where scoped.
Engagements are fixed-price and scoped per project. Pricing is set in the partner consultation.
Bring us a project.
The fastest way to understand PIaaS™ is to walk through a live opportunity together.
